September 12: Workshop Update

September 12: Workshop Update

This Week at the Workshop ✂️ September 12, 2025

We’re easing into fall over here, and while we’re still not totally unpacked in the new workshop, it is finally starting to feel like home again. We've had a nonstop summer,  moving into a new space, traveling, prepping collections, shipping orders, and sewing like crazy. But things are shifting now and we’re feeling excited about what’s ahead!

Here’s all the scoop on what we’ve got cooking here at the workshop:

Waffle 🧇 Surprise, Brown Sugar is back!

Yup, simple as that. Brown Sugar is back and dropping in the shop Saturday at 10am PDT 🍯 Yes, Saturday!

We haven’t had this one in nearly a year, and we’ve been getting lots requests, so we’re bringing it back, alongside full restocks of Forest and Coco, too! 🌲🥥 All three will be available in all styles with our Walnut leather for the season!

These will be available as a preorder shipping the end of October. We won’t be making a ton so if there’s one you’ve been waiting for, now’s the time. We are planning a couple new colors later in the season but those will be a while yet.

A heads up that what we have on the site for Honeycomb, Mochi, Shiitake, and Surf is the last of those colors so grab one while we’ve got them as once they’re gone, they’re gone.

🍂🍂🍂

We’ve been getting so many questions and requests about new Maven and Simple silk colors for fall and the answer is, yes, they’re on their way!

All of the details we have for now are below…

🍂🍂🍂

Maven, Up Next ✨

We have two fun, and very fall, colors joining us this season. We’re keeping Oak, Montauk, and Bittersweet, and all three will be paired up with Walnut leather for the season!

When our new Maven colors drop, we’ll open with a short preorder window so our community can order exactly what they want and then we’ll most likely make up some extras in the most popular styles.

New Simple colors, yes please!

Four new colors are coming 🥳 The first carrier we ever made, and quite literally the only one you'll ever need. They're that good 🤌

If you’re new to Simple Silk, we’ve got lots of helpful information on what to expect and why we love them so much over on website. Learn more here.

Weft 🌿

A heads up that our fw25 Weft fabric is running low and we’re already out of the Basalt and Muir so if you’re hoping to grab those this season, what we’ve got on the site is it for a while as we weren’t planning on these going so fast and we don’t have any more in the works!

If you haven’t checked out our new Weft collection yet, you need to. They’re so good. Woven of raw silk and cotton, this slubby textile has a soft, cushy hand feel with the perfect drape and incredibly comfy support. It’s our current everyday obsession ✨

A Fresh Rhythm for Fall 🍁

We’re trying something new this season (or actually as of this morning 😅)!

Behind the scenes, large seasonal collections (like Weft) take a looong time to prepare and while we’re working nonstop at the workshop, we realize it can feel slower to you while you wait.

We’re experimenting this season with smaller, more frequent releases ✂️, hoping it helps us stay connected to our slow, thoughtful process while offering a more consistent and enjoyable rhythm for our community.

We’re start with Maven and will adjust based on what feels right. Sometimes things work, sometimes they don’t, but thankfully making everything here means we can adapt without missing (much of!) a beat ✨

A Solstice update 🌗 IYKYK

Originally, we estimated they’d ship at the end of September, buuuuut it looks like they’ll be going out even sooner 🥳 hopefully by the end of next week. We’ll keep you posted!

If you have no idea what I’m referring to, that most likely means you’re not in our community group, Unthreaded, yet! Come join us for early access, secret drops, sneaks peeks, and little extras like giveaway, etc. this is your spot. We, the Sakura Bloom team, are your hosts and it’s our space for hanging and chatting with our community 👯

We’re back on stories on Instagram 🤳

Not that we ever really left… but we definitely haven’t been on Instagram as much as we normally are these past few months.

This past week though, we’ve been having fun story-ing from the workshop again, and forgot how much I love sharing our BTS 🪡 from sourcing travels, cutting, sewing, shooting, and all the other million steps that go into creating each of our carriers right here in San Diego!

As always, thank you for being here and choosing us.

The world is moving so fast, and it’s easy to feel pressure to speed up but nearly two decades in (!!), we’ve learned that the real strength lies in slowing down, staying rooted, and keeping our hands in the work. That’s what you make possible for us, and we couldn’t be any more grateful for each and every one of you 💕
