To preserve the life of your Sakura Bloom follow our storage recommendations below.
SCOUTS + ONBUHIMO
For Everyday Storage - We like to keep our Scout/Onbuhimo hanging by our door, ready to go, keeping them out of direct sunlight when not in use. On a hanger in the hall closet or bedroom helps preserve the straps evenly. For compact travel, both carriers fold up nicely into themselves. Added tip: you can detach the strap and secure it around the folded carrier for the slimmest profile.
Long Term Storage - If you plan to store your Scout/Onbuhimo for an extended period of time, we recommend not folding the leather straps as to not crease it.
RING SLINGS
For Everyday Storage - We like to keep our slings threaded and ready to go, keeping them out of direct sunlight when not in use. Really the only time you will need to unthread your sling is if you are going to wash it or store it for an extended period of time...
Long Term Storage - If you plan to store your sling for an extended period of time we recommend unthreading it, giving it a wash and then either hanging it in a closet or rolling it up to store out of any direct sunlight. Washing it will remove any residue that could eat away at the fibers and rolling/hanging will keep the fabric nice and smooth.
Extra Protection- If you would like to add an additional layer of protection to either your sling, Scout, or onbuhimo you may use clean muslin or linen fabric as a barrier when storing. This will help prevent 'perma-creasing' as well as staining or wear from wood or acidic surfaces. For your carriers you can use the fabric to create a dust bag of sorts, and slings can simply be placed on top of the length of fabric before rolling them together. Store in a place with good airflow, even temperature and no direct light such as a drawer designated for your favorite pieces. Try to avoid placing them at the bottom of a drawer with many other heavy objects on top.
