Kid-Friendly Getaway: The Amado

Beautifully designed, spacious and perfect for families, The Amado in Palm Springs is a little oasis just 2.5 hours from LA that has it all. A pool with floaties, a fully equipped kitchen, flat screen tv, board games, a BBQ and fire pit - all within minutes from the Palm Springs strip.

The Santa Rosa Mountains overlook this palm lined getaway, which, if you visit soon are snowy capped and filled with lush green pockets from the rainfall. Soak up the sun in a lounger by the pool, hike one of the many nearby trails, and come back to your home away from home to a BBQ under the stars.

The vision behind The Desert Collective is Jaime Kowal. Part artist, world traveler, dreamer, and creator, her vision is funnelled into two properties in Palm Springs, a tiki bar called Bootlegger Tiki, Ernest Coffee Shop, and another property in the beautiful wine region Prince Edward County, Canada. Each property is curated for both function and designers at heart.

“We love our staff. We love our guests. We love our customers that continue to surprise us with their wild and wacky stories, parties, and to-die-for-outfits… We’re all encompassing. It’s about good times and good people.” - The Desert Collective

Extra extra! The Desert Collective opens up a yoga retreat in Joshua Tree next year! Hop on over to our Essentials Collection which was shot there during #AltSummit last week!

145 square feet of perfection, 5 smiling faces. The Sakura Bloom Design Studio is a place of magic.

It's the place where we craft posts, plan parties, work on educational content, and partner with weavers to design the newest, most gorgeous additions to the Sakura Bloom lines.

Designed by our friend and interior magician Vanessa Matsalla of Studio Matsalla, this is a space beyond dreams, nested in a tiny garden just steps from the sea in Leucadia, California.

Where sunshine enters from 360 degrees, and tacos and teas are shared amidst a rose garden, while conference calls are taken overlooking a koi pond with a backdrop of bamboo and rosemary.

Our doors welcome entrepreneurs and artisans. Our handcrafted desks could tell stories of the curated and sourced heirloom-quality textiles passing across them before heading off to the workshop where...

Oh, but the workshop. Where dreams are stitched by hand and infused with sleepy dust.

Nestled in a small town in coastal Massachusetts, our slings are lovingly sewn, steamed, and packaged by the hands of our amazing seamstresses. Their hearts are in their work and their families are supported by their artistry and skill in making sure that each and every sling that goes out is as perfect as the babe it will hold.

Our little team thrives in these beautiful spaces, doing everything we can to help you bond with your baby while keeping hold of what makes you, you. We are mamas and dads ourselves, wearing our own babies close to our hearts, volunteering our time to help families on the weekends, sopping up bubbles from the floors after bathtime, cuddling in bed with our sons and daughters to read and to chat about school. We are working mothers, alternative families, cosleepers, breastfeeders, teachers, scientists, and artists raising beautiful human beings just as you are every single day. With love.

The Inspired Nursery: Marcona Morroccan

Each month we are pairing some of our favorite slings with some dreamy nursery decorating ideas.

This week we chose the sultry Marcona Silk Sling to style in a Moroccan fashioned nursery. Perfect for a boys or girls room, we love how the cumin-spiced color warms up a room of any size, and invites fort building, cozy pillow beds, and of course, starry nightlights. This ambience is perfect for bedtime stories of ancient fairy tales and dreams of far away worlds.

Tip: Make it modern by keeping the color palette simple on bedding and rugs (we like white beige neutrals) and letting the wallpaper and accent poufs do the talking. Add in a brass cut out light and at night the whole room will transform into a starry night sky.
