The Common Thread. A Sakura Bloom photo documentary celebrating the commonalities that we share through the capture of what makes us unique.
We are excited to introduce @hillarycoke today in our feature:
Name: Hillary Coke
Kids + Ages: 2 girls: Carmella Gray, 8 and Francesca Rain, 6 months.
Where you live: downtown in Seattle, WA
What is unique about the wall you're standing in front of: This is the EMP (Experience Music Project) museum, which is home to the largest collection of instruments & hand written song lyrics from popular Seattle musicians like Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix.
I spend 90% of my time with my 2 girls and 10% of my time sewing for @shopforsythia where I make kimonos.
The strangest thing I ever discovered in the bottom of my sling was: a pair of baby socks that had been "missing" all day. Whoops!
When I'm celebrating, you'll find me eating: fancy cheese plates and drinking: San Pellegrino with lime.
If I could have any superpower, it would be: to turn back time a few years... to make more babies!
Making pancakes on the weekend, I'm listening to Melanie Martinez.
If I got pulled over for speeding, I'd most likely be listening to A$AP Rocky for sure!
If I could spend a month making the world a better place, I'd: try and come up with a plan to help everyone addicted to drugs living on the street. There are so many that need the right care.
The most inspiring Instagram feed to follow is: @foxmeetsbear. She's quite refreshing, honest and real
My top tip for a new parent: less is more! There are so many things that big-name businesses try to make you feel like you "need" for baby. Keep it simple. We co-sleep, co-bathe and baby wear so things like cribs, bathtubs & strollers only would take up space.
My favorite book recommendation: Weetzie Bat by Francesca Lia Block.
If I could only have one Sakura Bloom on a desert island, I'd have: my silk pebble because it's the only sling I own! Ha!
If you get me talking about quality over quantity, you might as well cancel the rest of your day.
The name of my memoir would be: Mom in the Hood: raising kids in the city
The top item on my bucket list is: oh gosh, probably a Gucci bag. I love designer fashion.
If I could go anywhere in the world for a week, I'd choose: Paris. Only for the bakeries! Swoon.
