The Common Thread. A Sakura Bloom photo documentary celebrating the commonalities that we share through the capture of what makes us unique.

We are excited today to introduce @thatdadmat, Mat York, as photographed by @amandastarkphoto.

Name: Mat York

Kids + Ages: Baylor (3), Miles (1)

Where you live: Dallas, Texas

What is unique about the wall you're standing in front of:  The multi face wall represents the many roles we have to play as parents.

I spend 50% of my time doing: Speaking to families about Babywearing education, car seat safety and fatherhood as "That Dad Mat", and 100% of my time: being a DAD.

The strangest thing I ever discovered in the bottom of my sling was: a dog toy, gotta love toddlers.

When I'm celebrating, you'll find me eating: Cake and drinking: Rum

If I could have any superpower, it would be: shape shifting

Making pancakes on the weekend, I'm listening to: Acoustic Covers

If I got pulled over for speeding, I'd most likely be listening to: 90's Pop

If I could spend a month making the world a better place, I'd: Save all the puppies!

The most inspiring Instagram feed to follow is: dontforgetdads

My top tip for a new parent: Learn how to wear before the baby gets here!

My favorite book recommendation: 3 Weeks With My Brother by Nicholas Sparks. My brother and I are 10 years apart and didn't become particularly close till I was older and he was already sick. I read it during an extended hospital stay of his and it really resonated with me about the sibling bond.

If I could only have one Sakura Bloom on a desert island, I'd have: Black Currant. Why: First sling my son went in, my most important one!

If you get me talking about food you might as well cancel the rest of your day.

The name of my memoir would be: Fatherhood: A Work in Progress

The top item on my bucket list: live in Europe

If I could go anywhere in the world for a week, I'd choose: Fiji
