Introducing Mr. Blue Skye: Rachel Ehlin-Smith

From conception to finished piece, the artistry that goes into the work of Mr. Blue Skye's, Rachel Ehlin-Smith, is awe-inspiring. An expert weaver with supreme talent in Shibori hand dyeing, Japanese binding, and natural dye techniques, we knew having her curate a one of a kind sling collection would be an opportunity not to be missed.

Ehlin-Smith began nurturing her textile passions with batik dyeing, and continued to the weaving studios of Saori New York, and currently is working on a permanent collection at the Mingei International in San Diego. Rachel's work is influenced by her worldly experience, and grounded with the aura of California’s rugged beauty. Her biggest inspiration is her son, Skye, who she lives with in her stunning home studio in Little Italy here in San Diego.

We couldn’t be more excited to present this very limited edition collection of purely hand crafted slings. For the art collector, the nature lover, the little bit of fringe and whimsy mother (or father!) We hope the coveter of these works are as in love with these pieces as we are. View the lookbook and stay tuned, the Mr. Blue Skye for Sakura Bloom collection drops this Wednesday, November 16 at 10am PST.
