The Lowdown

We are celebrating this year by dancing, (and sewing!) all the way into the new year. We’re combining our two coveted artist collaborations with our new Scout and Onbuhimo designs, in one, extremely limited run of unique carriers. We always save a tiny bit of textiles for our Sakura Bloom Vault but these are truly the last of their collections (aka the 2017 Vault is empty!). Just one or two of each colorway have been carefully crafted into an Onbuhimo or Scout and trimmed in our soft and supple signature leather.

MR. BLUE SKYE

Using nature’s blueprint, textile artist Rachel Ehlin-Smith aka Mr. Blue Skye, creates magic with our signature Belgian linens and dupioni silks as her canvas - hand-dying these unique carriers in her Little Italy studio and crafting subtle patterns that complement hues of indigo, berry, teal, peach, and more. 

Luxurious yet laid back; these one-of-a-kind works of art weave the natural world in with your baby and you.

From our four Mr. Blue Skye x Sakura Bloom collections this past year, two of those collections are being used in this Holiday release, Mr. Blue Skye II and Mr. Blue Skye III. 

DESERT COLLECTION

How do you capture the subtle specks of color in a desert sunset or the dotted rocky landscapes that stretch for miles ahead?

Just south of the Elfin Forest in San Diego, master weaver, fiber artist and teacher, Jean Degenfelder, is creating magic from her cozy mountain yurt overlooking Lake Hodges. For over 30 years, Degenfelder has been curating colors and patterns, weaving thread into gorgeous textiles and wearable art.
