The Common Thread is a photo documentary celebrating the commonalities that we share through the capture of what makes us unique -the creative interpretation of individual styles and the energy of hometowns everywhere. We are excited to bring together a group of mamas and papas with unique style and energy, an authentic voice, and a passion for slinging babes.
We are excited today to introduce @yorkpartyof4, Jordan York, as photographed by @amandastarkphoto.
Name: Jordan York
Kids + Ages: Baylor 3 and Miles 1
Where you live: Dallas, TX
What is unique about the wall you're standing in front of: Deep Ellum is a part of Dallas that really embraces the chaos and beauty of the city with their art and murals. I believe that we all could understand that concept. As being a parent you really have to find the beauty in every circumstance and learn to embrace the chaos!
I spend 99% of my time: wearing my kids and 1% of my time: hiding in the bathroom!
The strangest thing I ever discovered in the bottom of my sling was a: tortilla, I do live in Texas!
When I'm celebrating, you'll find me eating: tacos and drinking: beer
If I could have any superpower, it would be: the ability to fly!
Making pancakes on the weekend, I'm listening to: show tunes and trying to get my kids to laugh!
If I got pulled over for speeding, I'd most likely be listening to: Cher; her greatest hits album stays in my CD player!
If I could spend a month making the world a better place, I'd: protect and feed all the children of the world. Children deserve love and warmth which is getting to be a rare commodity these days!
The most inspiring Instagram feed to follow is: @wildrootshomestead - the idea of living off the land and sustaining my family with our own hands really appeals to me and gives me a future to strive for.
My top tip for a new parent: RELAX, everything you do will be easier for you and babe if you do it with a relaxed attitude.
My favorite book recommendation: Water For Elephants
If I could only have one Sakura Bloom on a desert island, I'd have: Black Currant, Chambray. It's been with me through everything since I've had my son and I feel like it has already gotten me out of a few bad scenarios!
Thank you so much for joining us for The Common Thread!
